HABITARE 2050

Living in Cities, Thinking about Housing, Making by Digital

From 9 to 11 June 2026, the Mediterranea University of Reggio Calabria will host a comprehensive program of activities:

  • International scientific forum
  • Hackathon, with collaborative workshops
  • Fair and Open Talk

In a hybrid platform that connects academic research, technological innovation, applied experimentation, and the territory. Through dialogue between universities, institutions, technology partners, and citizens, HABITARE 2050 explores the urban, architectural, and technological-environmental dimensions of contemporary living, promoting co-design processes, climate resilience, and digital governance, and supporting a rethinking of habitare as an osmotic process of care, social equity, and open innovation in the Mediterranean context. Within the hackathon, the village of Podargoni becomes a living territorial laboratory: a real space for observation, surveying, and experimentation, where digital tools, remote surveying, and collaborative processes are applied to reading the territory and building new scenarios for contemporary living.
